About our Santa Fe Springs concrete company

Decorative concrete driveway with a speckled finish leads to a stucco house, where an SUV is parked by the garage.

Why I left a desk job for concrete

I spent years at a desk before I quit to work with my hands. I learned concrete on other people's crews, mostly flatwork, the driveways, patios, sidewalks and slabs that lie on the ground, and in 2023 I started Santa Fe Springs Concrete here in Santa Fe Springs. Flatwork is still what most people call us for.

Most of our calls come from homeowners around Santa Fe Springs, plus some small property owners who need a lot, a wall or a slab done right. What I care about is getting it right the first time, because once concrete sets there's no easy do-over. So I explain the job before we pour it, and then we build it the way I said we would. I'd rather tell you something you don't want to hear at the estimate than have you find it in a crack a year from now.

What working with us looks like on your job

Here's what you can count on from the first visit to the day you walk on your new slab, said plainly so you know what to expect before you hire us.

  • You deal with me the whole way

I come out to look at every job myself, and I'm on site with our crew while the work gets done. The person who priced your driveway or patio is the one standing behind it.

  • You hear the bad news at the estimate

If your old slab sank because the dirt under it was just raked level, or the water runs back toward the house, I'll tell you before we start so you're deciding with the facts. When the budget's tight, I'll tell you to save on the finish before the base, because the base is hidden on day one and it's what keeps the slab from settling.

  • An estimate that spells out the price

You get the details in writing, with what's in the price and what isn't. You'll know whether tear-out, base work and the finish you picked are covered before you agree to anything.

Licenses, insurance and permits for your job

  • Licensed and insured

We're licensed and insured. It's a fair question to ask any concrete contractor before they break out your old slab, so ask us at the estimate.

  • Permits in Santa Fe Springs

The city's Building and Safety Division issues permits, and its guidance says a contractor licensed by the State of California can get one, and so can a homeowner who hires someone, though you may then have to carry Workers' Compensation Insurance. Before we schedule, we look up what the office for your address requires, and when a permit is needed we handle the paperwork with you and settle up front who calls for each inspection.
